The Liu Lab at UCSF is an interdisciplinary basic and translational research group dedicated to understanding the biology and advancing new treatments for malignant brain tumors. We are interested in the mechanisms of tumorigenesis and treatment resistance. We develop and apply cutting-edge functional genomic approaches collaboratively to achieve this mission. Research areas in the lab include: 

1) Discovery of novel cancer targets using functional genomics.
2) Role of DNA damage response in radiation treatment resistance.
3) Epigenetic engineering as novel precision therapeutics.
