The UCSF IHG, CAT, and CoLabs co-host the technology seminar series, where you can stay informed about the latest technological advancements from various partners in the industry.
How can digital PCR help researchers achieve greater confidence in gene expression analysis? Join us for a Lunch & Learn with QIAGEN exploring best practices for sample preparation and how QIAcuity® Digital PCR can support sensitive, precise, and reproducible gene expression measurements.
The session will cover key steps in the sample preparation process, including sample stabilization, RNA preservation, and nucleic acid extraction, to help ensure high-quality results. Attendees will also learn how digital PCR enables sensitive, precise, and absolute quantification of gene expression targets without the need for standard curves. Multiplexed assays can further increase throughput, conserve valuable samples, and provide deeper biological insights by enabling simultaneous measurement of multiple gene targets in a single reaction.
Michael Busche, Ph.D., Digital PCR Application Specialist at QIAGEN, will discuss how combining optimized sample preparation with QIAcuity® Digital PCR can help researchers address limitations of traditional qPCR and improve confidence in gene expression studies. Michael received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020 and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2025. Drawing on his background in molecular genetics and genomics research, he supports researchers across North America in applying digital PCR to a wide range of biological and clinical applications.
The session will conclude with an opportunity for questions and discussion about applications and workflows for gene expression analysis.
